ShoreCare is a charity arm of North Shore Christian Centre, a local church on Eastern Valley Way, Chatswood. Each year ShoreCare help assist and serve people within our North Shore region who are in need most, including families and individuals affected by:

domestic violence, homelessness (youth on the streets), physical and intellectual disability, teenage pregnancy, terminal or long term illness and hospitalisation, traumatic loss and bereavement, unemployment and extreme financial difficulty.

Each Christmas ShoreCare organises Christmas Hampers, Backpacks and Goodie Bags which include grocery vouchers, gift cards and movie tickets for the families, as well as donated Christmas presents for the children of these families, so that they too can experience the joy of Christmas, and feel a sense of “hope” in their dark hour and that they know “somebody cares”. These endeavours and appeals are mostly run by volunteers.

None of these Hampers, Backpacks and Goodie Bags would be possible, without the very generous donations of wonderful sponsors all over Sydney and Melbourne, who donate products from their company to fill those hampers and bags. Furthermore, all of those products from the time of delivery to the time of hamper-packing and dispatch, are also stored in generously donated storage spaces, from wonderful companies such as Kennards Self Storage. Donations such as these not only enable ShoreCare to do what they do best for our community, but also help to impart “seeds of joy and cheer” that make all the difference in so many lives each Christmas, in such a practical way but never to be underestimated.

Without our incredible sponsors, ShoreCare would not have these hampers to give out. Without companies such as Kennards Self Storage, ShoreCare would have nowhere to safely store the hamper products.

Each Team Member of Kennards Chatswood (Eric, Flex and Varsha) and their Head Office (Sharon Dux) have always been a pleasure to work with, always so helpful, valuable and willing to help anytime, with smiles on their faces. A wonderful essence of Christmas cheer, one could say, but all year round!

ShoreCare sincerely thanks Kennards Self Storage for all the work they do for the community and the part they took in giving Christmas back to those in need once again, in December 2014.
