Exciting progress is being made at our new Warrawong Storage centre on the corner at 251 Shellharbour Road.

Last week the new management team inspected progress and started to get ready to move themselves and their equipment in. The main building structures are now up with much of the fit out for the first buildings nearly complete. The windows for our large office, retail space, meeting room and Box Shop are also being installed.

Once the centre is at a lockable stage progress will move quite quickly. Signage, driveways and permanent fencing will be the last to be installed before opening, weather permitting in November or December this year.

This Kennards Self Storage centre is an outstanding addition for customers in the Warrawong , Port Kembla and South Wollongong areas with quite easy access even from suburbs such as Dapto, Lake Illawarra and Shellharbour itself.

The Warrawong centre will have some of the best value mini warehouses within the area along with a large selection of dedicated under cover car, boat and RV spaces. With each new centre that our team opens we build upon the learning from earlier projects. Warrawong will also feature a new generation and separately secure enterprise spaces section. Wide driveways, individually alarmed spaces and 24 hour, 7 day access will be key features of this centre.



The management team is being lead by Kennards veteran; Mark Mallinson. Mark is an Illawarra local and has been with Kennards for in excess of 10 years. He knows the business well with his most recent appointment being the successful opening of the Mittagong, Central Highlands centre. “We don’t want a customers deterred thinking of a dark, dirty and old fashioned, unmanned storage centre. We have a test by which we measure the centre – If you were on site at your space in the night-time; would you feel safe?”

“At Warrawong we use bright, new generation lighting. Wide, clean driveways and corridors. High security fences, monitored alarms and new high definition CCTV complement each other to provide peace of mind. A coffee, tea kitchenette is available with our new generation WiFi hot-desks for customers on the go and piped music gently emanating throughout the corridors adding atmosphere and warmth.”

Keep a look out for us on Shellharbour Road. You can see us easily from the corner of the Primbee bypass. When the fences, gates and last of the signage goes up you’ll know we will be opening soon!
