2021... A New Hope

January 19, 2021 by Antone Boustani
2021... A New Hope
New Year's Eve has always been a time to reflect on the past, but more importantly, to plan for the future. New Year’s resolutions are a trendy thing to make come January 1. They usually involve plans for self-improvement or something positive. For success, give some thought and plan your “resolution” and make it difficult but attainable. The following resolutions can be realised.

Eat Healthier
It is time for some greens. Christmas break usually involves some get togethers over a dining table with some heavy dishes, desserts and washing it down with a glass of wine or a beer or two. The saying, “a healthy mind equals a healthy body”. The reverse is also true. Eating healthy by adding some veggies and cutting out fast food and drinking water can help both physically and mentally.

Exercise More
Under the same umbrella as eating healthier is working out more. It’s time to lose the Christmas “bulge”. Having a healthy body is about balance. Before you start, do some research and ask for advice from your doctor. What works for one person, doesn’t always work for the next. Once you find out how you want to work out, make a plan and set some goals. Discipline is key.

Save Money or Spend Less
After all the holiday spending, many of us end up with an ugly looking credit card statement. An area where we can make good savings is to eat out less and cut down on ordering food. These days it is so easy to order good food home. This is costly. Cooking at home is more cost effective and gives you greater control at eating healthier. Meal prepping can save you time. Pick a day in the week to chop up your ingredients and pack in the freezer. Have some savings plans so you know what do with the spare $$$$$$.

Have a look at what you are paying for the home loan/ energy / phone /internet at home. Do some research and see if they are the most cost-effective options. If you find that you can get the same product or service for less money, then jump ship.

Running a business and paying an expensive lease to store your business’s goods. There is a cheaper way. Have a look at www.kss.com.au and you can see Kennards self storage prices. Kennards can offer cheap storage that will help you lower your business costs. The best thing with Kennards is that there is no lease. You only pay for the time you stay. Our invoices are month to month. We have walkie stackers or forklifts at each site so you don’t have to buy one. We will even accept your deliveries with out you being there.

Learn Something New
Nothing opens the mind more than learning something new. Want to get paid more for a days work. Do a coarse to up skill yourself. The other exciting things to do is to learn an intstrument or a new language.

Quit Smoking
It's never too early to quit. There are plenty of tools to help you through it too. Over-the-counter nicotine replacement therapy products now make it easier to kick nicotine. Seeing your medical professional is also advised.

Making the time to put reading back on your agenda is important. Reading can relax the mind and give you more skills. Read while you drive by listening to audio books.

Change Jobs
This year has taught us that our skills are transferable. Gin makers started selling sanitiser and pilots have had to work as drivers etc. If you are not happy doing what you do, now is the time to see what is out there and what jobs your skills are suited to.

Drink Less
Many want to quit drinking in the new year, but this is a difficult thing if you drink to much. Start off by having one less glass the next time you are out and gradually increase by having days where you don’t drink. This is both healthy and cost effective. If drinking is a problem for you then seeing a heath care professional is advised.

Spend More Time with Family & Friends
All the time you spend with family and friends during the holiday season might make you want to get away from them, or it could make you want to socialise with them even more. Covid 19 made us all more isolated. Once we get past Covid 19 it will be important to rebuild some relationships.

Renovate / Sell / Buy a home
Home is where the heart is. Having a comfortable abode to return to every night after work is the dream. Changing the lay out of your current home adding a lick of paint will make your place feel more like you. If this is difficult then selling your place to buy a more ideal home is the option. Do some research on suburbs, streets and what has been sold and for what money. Use your head and try not to emotionally purchase a new place. Prior planning is key.

The difficult thing is trying to paint a wall or move out of your sold place while we are busy working or taking care of the kids. Staging your place for sale id also difficult when your home looks “lived” in.

The answer is storage. Creating the space for change starts with a good clean up and de-clutter at home. Put items in a storage shed during this process. This will help you gain space to paint that room or rent a nice couch that will help your place look great for sale.

In between homes after you have sold your old home and waiting for access to your new home? Put all your possessions in Storage. A lot of people “Google” cheap storage near me. There is a simpler way. Get on to the Kennards Self Storage website www.kss.com.au. Here you will be able to find locations for self storage Sydney or all over the country and New Zealand, close to your home. Live in Sydney? The website will help you find cheap storage in Sydney. Once you find the location you can then see what sizes are available and make a choice that best suits your needs. You can then rent the space online from the comfort of your own home. Any questions about what size you need can be answered with a simple telephone call. A friendly informative team member like Stuart or Manita at Kennards Storage Homebush would love to help with some advice and can be reached on (02) 97631211, or if you are too busy to talk email them on homebush@kss.com.au.

Once you have picked the size required and completed the online part of your agreement the next thing is to start packing the items you need storage for. Kennards is also the place to find moving boxes. The Kennards Storage website has a box shop where you can purchase cheap moving boxes. Unsure of what box is good for what item? Again give the Homebush team a call and they will assist. The extra good news is will give you a discount if you buy 10 or more and can arrange delivery once purchased through the website.

What ever your New Years Resolution is, best of luck in achieving it. Hope 2021 is a great year for all.

Happy New Year from Kennards Self Storage!
